Pipeline Training

Coast to Coast NDE provides industry leading training for our NDE/Pipeline Assessment technicians at our training facility in Wilsonville, OR (outside Portland).

All Coast technicians are put through week long training courses and upon completion are tested and certified in accordance with the recommended guidelines stated in the SNT-TC-1A document. Currently, Coast technicians are offered courses in Ultrasonics (Level I, Level II with defect sizing), and Magnetic Particle. Shortly, courses in Liquid Penetrant, Eddy Current, Remote Field Eddy Current, Long Range Guided Wave and AUT Corrosion mapping will be offered.

Coast NDE's training consists of MPI, UT, Soils and extensive training on Direct Assessment methods using the D.A.P. Training Manual and D.A.P. Dig Site Data Entry and Reporting Software

In addition to integrity training, our crews make regular trips into the field for hands-on training and demonstrations of field techniques.

Thirty-party training includes NACE Coating, NACE CP, NACE Corrosion as well as extensive safety training around WHIMIS, CPR, H2S, confided space, and general and construction, ditch safety.

Coast management believes that proper cross training is an effective tool for enhancing a technician's body of knowledge and as such all technicians are rotated through each client's project. The idea is to learn form each Sr. technicians various skill set and the unique inspection environment and expectations from each individual client.

All instruction/ training and certification is completed in-house by our resident Corporate SNT Level III technicians - Mr. Wesley H. Weber and Mr. Brian Snider. Collectively, Mr. Weber and Mr. Snider have over 45 years of NDE examination, advanced inspection methods (Advanced Defect Sizing, AUT, Guided Wave, ET, RFT, IRIS and technical instruction.

In addition, both Mr. Weber and Mr. Snider are trained direct assessment technicians and assist in direct assessment classroom and field training with other in-house instructors. Coast NDE is pleased to offer our in-house courses to owner/operator company staff and will have a published course schedule.
